Hi,congratulations for this great found!
Are you sure 1941 is correct (according to the ident-number)?
Anyway a post-war exhaust has been fitted, maybe to exceed ground-clearence.
Could this be a formerly civil pre-war Bulldog with downswept exhaust which was 'recruited' by the Wehrmacht? That would explain the two colours, too.
I don't think Lanz would waste paint in times when it was in short supply.
Posting the ident-number would make this clear.

Hi there,

nice find! This vid may interest you:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVDxb1laQaY

This is an ex - Wehrmacht Eilbulldog with the typical configuration (exhaust, rear wheels, no winch, no Cabrio hood). This particular example was sourced out of Scandinavia as well! I have seen it in person (the one in the vid) and it is very nicely preserved. I believe this is a good guideline how your Bulldog did look like.

Being a 1941 modelyear it is most likely this was a military ordered Bulldog from the start and not a seized former privately owned one.

Are you sure the flywheel cover wasnt fitted from another Bulldog post war? And its blue paint under the Wehrmacht grey?

Also in those times they probably just used whatever was on hand so it may have left the factory in blue. Im not sure if the specially ordered military Bulldogs came in grey already from factory, I dont think this has been adressed yet in the numurous books about Lanz.

Also more pictures are always welcome. Its rare to see these machines "as found". Unfortunately its been common in Germany to restore them with lots of shiny paint and chrome that of course they never had in period. Not even speaking about the lots of fakes that are around these days as well.

Hi,

I know of a 1941 HR9 with a slightly lower serialnumber than yours that is also blue. The owner told me that Luftwaffe machines were painted blue and not grey. Another possibility is that all machines were painted blue and then in whatever colour the customer wanted.
My guess is that your tractor once had a fixed roof and should still have some sort of attachment between the seat and rear/sidewalls.

Nice catch
